The D’Arts Ensemble is for students with disability from NSW public schools. Students participate within their school group and play a significant role in showcasing their abilities in the performing arts to a wider audience. Students will work with industry professionals and support staff to create a work that develops their skills and understanding through performance.
Schools involved in the D’Arts Ensemble will be selected via an online video audition. Schools are asked to present a dance or movement sequence that will allow the audition panel to assess students’ movement ability, performance quality and skills in spatial awareness. Schools are also invited to include musical, dramatic and/or visual arts elements in this year’s application. The focus for this year will be on the diversity of the performing arts not just dance.
Use the theme of “Up and Down” to inspire your performance piece. Try to demonstrate anything unique about your school or your school setting in your audition.
Items should be no more than 1 minute and 30 seconds in length.
D’Arts Ensemble groups must be of no more than 12 students from Years 3-12. It is possible that not all 12 performers will be selected. Exact numbers will be notified on acceptance.
